Walking In Memphis... Road Trip Week Part Deux

So... after getting home from The Martin Family Reunion over Memorial Day Weekend... the kids and I packed the truck back up and headed out for Tennessee and Mississippi to see Jodi and family (aka "Dolly") and to see Daddy and family!!

We loaded up the car on Thursday morning and headed out (a little later than we hoped... but still not far from our estimated time of departure).

We arrived in Colliersville, Tennessee 6.5 hours later... and only one pit stop. These kids are such great travelers. And I must say... we are traveling with no CD player! That's a big deal for 4 kids that love to sing their praise music at the top of their lungs at all times. Since we couldn't "push #4 and play song #5..." (these are the instructions that I usually get from the 2nd and 3rd row seats of the car) we were at the mercy of their own personal renditions of "Blessed Be the Name of the Lord", "Amazing Grace" (McCaleb still insists they are saying grapes... not grace) and "Big, Big House"...

We had a really good time - even in the car. They are such great kids... and it is such a blessing to be able to travel with them and completely ENJOY them so much. They are hilarious.

When we arrived at Dolly's house, we had some fun with the sidewalk chalk. Most of us did... McCaleb found some trash in the road and colored the trash. There was some frisbee tossing, some hopscotch and then we had a WONDERFUL DINNER (B-sketti... my own personal favorite meal) and got all cleaned up for Daddy, Frances, Kelsey, Alex and Amy to come over and see us for a while. Later we all fell into bed... completely exhausted! A great ENDING to a great first day.
