For Father's Day this year...we decided to meet up with the family (the ones that were here in Lexington) and have lunch at Cheddar's. It was an even BIGGER treat, because my niece, Tabitha, is here from Arizona staying for the summer.
Lunch was wonderful. We always seem to have a really good time whenever food is involved. :)
Once we got home, the kids got changed and headed out to the pool. I think we might have overwhelmed Tabitha just a smidge for the frist few moments... but she quickly warmed up and joined into the chaos we call LIFE.
We swam... we chalked up the retaining walls, we played frisbee, tag and "chase"... we had chips and sandwiches... and FINALLY the ice cream was ready. Tabitha really loved it. I may not have made her a super great meal... but she got homemade Orange Sherbet... and I think she was pretty happy.
The kids are so proud of their Daddy... and rightly so. They love to hang out with him - and he makes each of them feel as if the outside world ceases to exist when they are spending time with him. He is a very busy guy with a lot of irons in the fire - but I am very proud of the effort he makes to get home for dinner each night... even if he has to sneak back out to work after the kids go to bed. I am also proud of the example that he sets for our children. He is a wonderful example of integrity... he is very level-headed and laid back... and he is the most loyal and dedicated man I have ever met.

After lunch, we headed to Target. (We were in Lexington... I can't seem to drive past a Target or a Chick-Fil-A without stopping. Sadly... Chick-Fil-A is closed on Sundays.) After we picked up a few things, we ran by Mom's... and invited them tocome out to the house. The kids were dying to get in the baby pool... and every weekend we make a new flavor of homemade ice cream. This particular weekend was "Orange Sherbet"... and the kids were pretty excited about it.

Thanks to Mom, Dad and Tabitha for coming over and spending the day with us. We really had a wonderful time.
